Job summary

Dillon Engineering Services in Ireland is seeking an experienced EHS Engineer to provide on-site environmental, health and safety support for construction upgrades, capital projects and contractor activities at a Sligo site.

You will work with engineering, project and construction teams, review drawings and RAMS, lead process safety assessments, PTW and incident investigations, and drive risk-based safety improvements across design, construction and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Experienced EHS professional with construction project exposure.
• Strong risk assessment and process safety knowledge.
• Proactive, hands-on approach to safe project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-ground EHS support for construction upgrades and contractor activities.
• Review P&IDs, PFDs, GA drawings, electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Conduct process safety assessments, HAZOP/PHA studies and design safety reviews.
• Review RAMS and ensure controls for high-risk activities.
• Support PTW, LOTO, line breaking, confined space, heights, lifting and hot work.
• Manage contractor EHS performance and compliance with legislation and site rules.
• Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to improve risk controls.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and loss-of-containment events; implement root-cause actions.
• Apply 5-Why, fault-tree, barrier and root-cause analysis techniques.
• Translate complex EHS findings into practical safety solutions for stakeholders.
