Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group is seeking a Senior EHS Engineer for a global pharmaceutical client in Sligo. The role focuses on shaping safety across engineering projects, construction works and site upgrades.

You will identify hazards early with design teams, perform risk assessments and lead safety reviews, ensuring high-risk activities are controlled and incidents prevented. Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential.

Qualificações

• 8 years of experience in EHS, preferably on projects, construction or site upgrades.
• A degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and process diagrams.
• Experience in process safety and risk assessments.
• Strong EHS experience supporting major projects, plant upgrades, shutdowns and contractors.
• Experience managing high-risk work, including permits, equipment isolation, confined spaces, lifting and hot work.
• Confidence working with engineers and contractors to challenge safety measures and reduce risks.
• Strong problem solving skills and experience investigating incidents and root causes.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain risks and influence decision.

Responsabilidades

• Investigating and improving: Look into incidents, technical issues and safety concerns, identify underlying causes and recommend practical improvements.
• Influencing and advising: Use your technical expertise to challenge unsafe practices, guide decision-making and help engineering teams find solutions that work in practice.
