Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a Lead Ecologist to join our Environmental Services team in Ireland. You will lead a multidisciplinary ecology group, shape ecological strategies for infrastructure and development projects, and mentor junior ecologists.

As a senior ecologist, you will deliver high-quality ecological assessments, advise on planning and design, and represent the company at stakeholder meetings and hearings, driving biodiversity and sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

• A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Irish ecological legislation, planning processes and relevant European environmental directives and case law.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex ecological assessments across infrastructure projects.
• Experience participating in oral hearings.
• Full Membership of CIEEM.
• Chartered Ecologist.
• Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while leading multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of ecologists across infrastructure and development projects.
• Provide expert ecological advice throughout the project lifecycle from planning to operation.
• Deliver high-quality ecological assessments and technical reports (EcIA, PEA, NIS, EIAR).
