Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join its Irish ecology team. You will lead ecological inputs on major infrastructure projects across highways, rail and energy, guiding habitat assessments, licensing and biodiversity enhancements.

Based in Ireland, you’ll collaborate across disciplines, mentor junior ecologists and contribute to sustainable outcomes for communities. The role supports flexible hybrid working and career development within a global firm.

Qualifications

• Degree in ecology or related environmental discipline with extensive industry experience.
• Full membership of a professional body or eligible for membership.
• Experience leading ecological inputs on large infrastructure projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; high attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ecological inputs across highways, rail and energy projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate ecology into project design and decision‑making.
• Mentor and guide junior ecologists.
• Build client relationships and engage with regulators and stakeholders.
• Balance site and office commitments.
