Job summary

Kare in Kildare Town invites applications for Senior Dietitian within the South Kildare West Wicklow CDNT. This permanent role is 35 hours per week, with a salary scale of €65,197 to €76,767 depending on experience.

Join an interdisciplinary team delivering family-centered services to children aged 0-18 with complex needs. The post requires CORU registration, 3+ years post-qualification experience, and a full driving licence.

Qualifications

  • CORU approved qualification in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • 3 years' post-qualification dietetic experience.
  • Experience with children/young people desirable.
  • Must have a full, valid driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship.
  • Proof of CORU registration or eligibility to register.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and modify interventions that are outcome based and relevant to the service users' goals.
  • Develop and monitor a care plan based on assessment of service users' nutritional needs.
  • Provide line management supervision to Dietitians / appropriate others.
  • Maintain quality standards of practice and participate in quality assurance and clinical audit.
  • Ensure professional standards are maintained as per CORU requirements.
  • Initiate and participate in initiatives that enhance the standard of care to service users.

South Kildare West Wicklow Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT)
Permanent Contract - 35 hours per week
Location - Kildare Town, Co. Kildare
Senior Dietician Salary Scale €65,197 to €76,767 annually DOE

In line with the HSE National Programme for Progressing Disability Services , Kare is the Lead Agency for the provision of supports across South Kildare West Wicklow. The successful candidate will join an established Interdisciplinary CDNT, which reconfigured in 2014, providing quality, evidenced based and family-centred supports for children and young people aged 0-18 years, who present with complex needs associated with disability, within an interdisciplinary framework, to support their development to enable active participation in community life.

The Senior Dietitian develops and provides a quality, evidence-based service.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement and modify interventions that are outcome based and relevant to person's goals.
  • Develop, implement and monitor a care plan, based on assessment of the service users' nutritional needs.
  • Provide line management supervision to assigned Staff Grade Dietitians / appropriate others.
  • Maintain quality standards of practice and participate in quality assurance and clinical audit as appropriate
  • Ensure professional standards are maintained in accordance with the requirements as set out by CORU.
  • Initiate and / or participate in initiatives that enhance the standard of care to service users
Requirements
  • A CORU approved qualification in Human Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Have 3 years' post qualification relevant dietetic experience
  • Experience working with children/young people is desirable
  • Demonstrate a level of clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidence based practice appropriate to carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the role in line with relevant legislation and standards
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate in partnership with others
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead on planning, organising and delivering services in an efficient, effective and resourceful manner, within a model of patient centred
  • Must have a full, valid drivers licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Must provide proof of current CORU or proof of eligibility to register
  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship
