Job summary

St John of God University Hospital in Ireland seeks a Senior Dietitian (part-time, permanent) to deliver specialist nutrition and dietetic services to patients, with follow-up as needed.

You will work within a multidisciplinary clinical team to provide evidence-based dietary care for adults and adolescents, including eating disorders, while upholding CORU standards and professional practice.

Qualifications

• BSc Human Nutrition and Dietetics required.
• Masters in Dietetics required.
• CORU Registration maintained.
• Member of Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute.
• Minimum of three years post graduate clinical dietetics experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional standards in line with CORU.
• Provide specialist nutritional advice and support to service users.
• Examine and develop the dietetic service within St John of God University Hospital.
• Prioritise and manage a patient caseload for adults and adolescents with evidence-based nutrition care.
• Provide dietary guidelines for patients with eating disorders.
• Collaborate as a key member of the multidisciplinary team (psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, CBT therapists, art therapy, occupational therapy and teachers).

Senior Dietitian – Permanent, Part -time

Role Summary

The Dietitian will function as an efficient and effective member of the clinical team with the aim of ensuring optimum delivery of a clinical nutrition and dietetic service to patients and ensuring appropriate follow up as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that professional standards are maintained in accordance with the requirements as set out by CORU.
• Provide all aspects of specialist nutritional or dietetic advice, treatment and support to service users taking into account their mental, psychological, emotional and physical needs.
• To examine, negotiate and develop the dietetic service that is provided to the multidisciplinary teams within St John of God University Hospital
• Prioritise and manage a patient caseload according to the needs of the service, providing high quality evidence-based nutrition and dietetic service to both adults and adolescents.
• To provide therapeutic dietary guidelines for service users and their families who are dealing with an eating disorder, in both adults and adolescents.
• To work as a key member of the multidisciplinte team which includes psychiatrists, psychologists, specialist eating disorder nursing staff, family and CBT therapists, art therapy, occupational therapy and teachers.

Essential Qualifications

• BSc Human Nutrition and Dietetics or a related science degree.
• Masters in Dietetics.
• CORU Registration and maintenance of this registration.
• Member of Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute.
• Minimum of three years post graduate clinical dietetics experience
