Job summary

Amach is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to evolve a cloud-native platform, designing scalable AWS infrastructure, automating deployments and driving platform reliability.

You will lead migrations to AWS ECS, implement IaC with Terraform, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions while embedding security and observability across the stack. Collaborating across engineering teams in an Agile delivery environment, you\'ll own observability with Datadog and mentor peers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Senior Platform/Cloud/DevOps role.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience and ECS.
• Terraform IaC and Datadog proficiency.
• Scripting in Python and/or Bash.
• Knowledge of cloud and container security and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Migrate containerised apps to AWS ECS and lead platform evolution.
• Design scalable AWS infrastructure and automate deployments.

Job description

As part of the Platform Engineering team, you'll help drive the evolution of a cloud-native environment, focusing on infrastructure automation, containerisation and platform reliability. This role would suit someone who enjoys designing scalable cloud platforms, automating infrastructure, and continually improving engineering practices.

Required skills:

• At least 3+ years experience in a Senior Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer or DevOps Engineer position
• Strong hands-on AWS experience, including designing highly available and resilient cloud environments
• Proven experience working with AWS ECS and container-based workloads
• Strong knowledge of AWS services covering compute, networking, databases and security
• Commercial experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Hands-on experience implementing and managing Datadog
• Strong scripting skills using Python and/or Bash
• Good understanding of cloud security, container security and infrastructure best practices
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering teams
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities within an Agile delivery environment
• Design, implement and support scalable AWS infrastructure
• Lead the migration of containerised applications to AWS ECS
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
• Configure and optimise monitoring, alerting and observability using Datadog
• Partner with software engineering teams to streamline deployments and improve platform usability
