Job summary

State Street seeks a senior Depositary technical specialist to lead and enhance Depositary oversight across UCITS, AIFs, and other regulated fund structures. The role requires deep subject-matter expertise in UCITS, AIFMD, Central Bank of Ireland requirements, ESMA guidance, and related legislation, with emphasis on investment restrictions, safekeeping, and cash-flow monitoring.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification and related professional, legal, risk, or compliance credentials are advantageous.
• Extensive Depositary, trustee, fund oversight, or related funds industry experience is required.
• Expert knowledge of UCITS and AIFMD in Depositary oversight, including safekeeping, cash-flow monitoring, and liability obligations.
• Strong understanding of Central Bank of Ireland requirements, ESMA guidance, and Irish funds regulation.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior technical authority for Depositary oversight and interpret regulatory obligations.
• Lead development and enhancement of Depositary oversight frameworks, controls, and standards.
• Provide deep leadership on investment restriction monitoring, breaching, escalation, and control design.
• Oversee safekeeping, cash-flow monitoring, and other core Depositary duties for multiple funds.
• Assess new funds, changes, prospectus updates, and new asset types from a Depositary view.
• Drive regulatory change management affecting Depositary oversight and implementation.
• Provide independent challenge on complex oversight, governance, and regulatory issues.
• Coordinate governance reporting for Boards and Committees with clear risk articulation.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Product, Fund Accounting, Custody, and Technology teams.
• Represent Depositary in governance forums, client meetings, and regulatory discussions.
• Identify emerging risks and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop technical capability through coaching, training, and standards development.
• Promote governance, accountability, investor protection, and disciplined oversight.
