Job summary

Demonware, part of Activision Blizzard, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Database team in Dublin. You will work on the database tooling platform, enabling self-serve configurations, and expanding to cloud technologies. The role emphasizes reliability, scalability and collaboration with global teams.

You will design and own features, mentor others, and help customers leverage database capabilities across game titles. On-site with a four-day work week in Dublin, Ireland.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience in a production service environment.
• Strong Python development skills and broad language experience.
• Experience designing tooling used by other engineers; good API/tool design sense.
• Database design experience with MySQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Excellent cross-team communication and collaboration.
• Solid understanding of networking (TCP/HTTP/TLS).
• Ability to analyze requirements and make design decisions.
• Strong problem solving and learning mindset.
• Collaborative and supportive team player.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and evolve the database tooling platform and cloud-ready features.
• Collaborate with teams running database tech to meet their requirements.
• Drive software architecture decisions for reliability and scalability.
• Ensure components are scalable and maintainable.
• Own features, components and tooling; review others' designs.
