As a Senior Data Scientist, you will lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven solutions that deliver measurable business value across Abbott Diabetes Care. Working at the intersection of business, technology, and data, you will partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and drive data-informed decision making. You will play a key role in shaping advanced analytics strategies while delivering innovative solutions that improve operational performance and business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to shape and build foundational data capabilities from the ground up. The successful candidate will establish and embed standard work, create and maintain SOPs, and develop scalable end-to-end processes that support consistent, high-quality data management across the organisation. Through these efforts, you will play a key role in enabling Abbott's Data, AI & Analytics strategy, driving the adoption of advanced analytics, AI, self-service reporting, and business intelligence solutions. Flexibility in working hours is required to support collaboration across global teams and business priorities.
Essential Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a related discipline. Proven experience delivering Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, and Advanced Analytics solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. Strong hands‑on experience with Databricks, AWS, Python, SQL, and modern cloud-based analytics platforms. Expertise in statistical modelling, predictive analytics, model lifecycle management, and deploying AI/ML solutions into production. Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Model Governance, and Responsible AI frameworks. Experience working within regulated Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Biotechnology, or Healthcare environments, with knowledge of GxP, CSV, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, ALCOA+, and Quality Management Systems. Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and executive communication skills.
Preferred Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field. Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG architectures, intelligent automation, and emerging AI technologies. Experience working with operational, manufacturing, supply chain, or healthcare datasets. Expertise in data visualisation and storytelling using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or AWS QuickSight. Familiarity with Oracle enterprise data environments and large-scale cloud data ecosystems.
