Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Manager for the Data Science team to lead a group of data scientists at the intersection of ML, LLMs, and cybersecurity. You will translate business needs into technical objectives and guide senior stakeholders.

You'll mentor, set roadmaps, stay current with ML trends, and drive production ML systems while exploring high-value research problems in a large-scale data environment. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical impact.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a STEM field or Bachelor’s with equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of data science and machine learning experience.
• 5+ years in a technical leadership or team lead capacity.
• Proven track record of leading ML projects from research to production deployment.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists with technical guidance and performance management.
• Refine priorities with senior leadership and manage staff and budgets.
• Plan and prioritize team roadmaps balancing research and production ML systems.
• Stay current with ML and cybersecurity trends and evaluate new technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align ML capabilities with business objectives.
• Identify high-impact opportunities with security domain experts and ML expertise.
• Communicate complex ML concepts and insights to stakeholders.
• Guide development of advanced models for malware detection and behavioral threat analysis.
• Drive research initiatives leading to publications, blog posts, or patents.
• Contribute to hands-on technical work when needed.
