Job summary

E-Frontiers seeks a Senior Data Platform Engineer to own and evolve a business-critical financial data reporting and visualisation platform used by senior investment professionals. You will design, develop and maintain data pipelines, optimise relational models and drive modern engineering practices across CI/CD and automation.

The role entails collaborating with equity research and technology leadership to deliver scalable, reliable solutions and to improve platform monitoring and governance.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Software Engineering, Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering experience.
  • Strong Linux administration including networking, processes, filesystems, cron and systemd.
  • Shell scripting experience (Bash, KSH or ZSH).
  • Strong SQL skills with relational DB design/optimisation.
  • Experience developing data visualization and reporting solutions.
  • Solid understanding of data analysis, statistics and data engineering principles.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience modernising legacy platforms and scripting environments.
  • Knowledge of ETL pipelines, APIs, message queues or workflow orchestration tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Python development for automation, APIs or ML workflows.
  • Experience building reusable engineering tools.
  • Previous experience in financial services or capital markets.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer to join the Asset Management Technology team supporting Equity Research. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a business-critical financial data reporting and visualisation platform used by senior financial analysts, portfolio managers and executive leadership.

You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining a complex data platform that processes, analyses and visualises financial data, while modernising legacy scripting environments and introducing engineering best practices across CI/CD, automation and platform reliability.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working closely with business stakeholders and driving the evolution of enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of a critical financial data reporting and visualisation platform.
  • Design, develop and maintain scripts that collect, transform, store and visualise financial data.
  • Build scalable reporting and visualisation solutions that support senior investment professionals and business leaders.
  • Work closely with financial analysts, portfolio managers and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
