Job summary

Medtronic plc is hiring for a Senior Software Engineer to design and operate Python data-processing services and Elastic Stack deployments that ingest and analyze SmartSync device logs. You will manage data pipelines, dashboards, and monitoring to ensure data health and timely insights for a global healthcare audience.

The role emphasizes collaboration with R&D, quality, and field teams, plus experience with regulated product development and AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in software engineering.
Significant professional experience designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining software across the development lifecycle, using Python or a comparable language.
Experience building data pipelines or analytics on large volumes of log or event data.

Responsibilities

Design data pipelines and tools that scale with growing data volumes while protecting data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Evolve data schemas, tools, and dashboards while maintaining compatibility for downstream users and reports.
Diagnose performance, memory, and reliability issues in data processing and drive root cause analysis.
Apply software architecture and design principles to develop reliable and maintainable data services and tools.
Leverage AI tools to support code development, data analysis, investigation summaries, and troubleshooting.
