Job summary

CarTrawler is seeking a Senior Data Engineer – Digital & Behavioural Telemetry to own the engineering and evolution of digital telemetry data that explains how customers interact with CarTrawler products. You will work with Data Engineering, Product & Technology to ensure data is contextualised and governed across journeys and partners.

The role requires strong SQL/Python, cloud experience, and hands-on telemetry work with tools like Snowplow, GA, and Snowflake.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in data engineering or digital analytics engineering with senior ownership across data products.
• Hands-on experience with digital telemetry data in production.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, AWS).
• Experience designing event taxonomies, schemas and data contracts.

Responsibilities

• Shape unified behavioural data models across customer actions and journeys.
• Define tagging, event contracts, taxonomies and versioning with P&T teams.
• Engineer governed data products to measure digital journeys and conversion funnels.
• Turn data needs into reusable, governed data structures for downstream consumption.
• Ensure observability by linking telemetry with real user monitoring and operational telemetry.
• Maintain data quality, privacy, lifecycle practices and documentation.
