Job summary

Meili seeks a Senior Data Engineer to own the data pipelines and warehouse models that power our commercial, partnerships and product teams. You will manage ingestion from our platform and partners, and shape the Snowflake model layer to be reliable, well-documented, and queryable for the business.

You will build data quality and observability, design durable data models, and partner with teams to translate questions into scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive production data pipelines and warehouse models with clear ownership.
• Strong, fluent SQL with window functions and cloud warehouse experience (Snowflake a real advantage).
• Proficient Python for data engineering: ingestion, transformation and testing.
• Software engineering discipline: Git, code review, CI/CD and testing.
• Experience with warehouse cost management and query optimization at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines feeding our warehouse from partner systems and third party sources.
• Own and extend the modelled analytics layer in Snowflake for well-documented, queryable tables.
• Incorporate data quality, freshness checks, alerts, and lineage into the platform.
• Model business metrics so numbers mean the same thing across contexts.
• Collaborate with commercial, partnerships and product teams to translate needs into durable data models.
• Set engineering standards for the data team including version control and documentation.
• Mentor and coach teammates while acting as a technical sounding board.
