Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for AWS data centre engineering. You will lead design efforts for new build projects, defining resilient, cost-effective mechanical systems that support world-class uptime and scalable data centre performance.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants, manage design reviews, approvals, and commissioning, and travel for site reviews across regions as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams across data center projects.
• Review and approve data center mechanical designs and submittals.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants.
• Ensure compliance with city and regional building codes.
• Support site selection reviews and commissioning activities.
