Job summary

eir business talent is currently seeking applicants for Senior Data Architect for our client based in Dublin. The role is titled Senior Data Architect - Data Platform & Architecture Lead and is based in Dublin with three days onsite.

You will define, govern and advance the enterprise data platform architecture, providing technical leadership across strategy, architecture standards and engineering delivery to ensure scalable, secure and compliant data solutions aligned with business priorities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data architecture or related field.
• Proven leadership of large-scale data initiatives.
• Expertise in data lake and data warehousing design.
• Strong data modelling skills (domain-driven, canonical, dimensional).
• Experience with ETL/ELT, APIs and streaming/orchestration.
• Hands-on with Databricks and Spark; SQL proficiency.

The Role

As the Senior Data Platform & Architecture Lead, you will define, govern and advance the enterprise data platform architecture. You will provide technical leadership across platform strategy, architecture standards and engineering delivery, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, reusable and aligned with business priorities, compliance expectations and enterprise technology direction. The role works closely with data engineering, analytics, governance, security, application and product teams to improve data availability, quality, interoperability and time-to-insight.

Your responsibilities:(Up to 10,Avoid repetition)

• Own the target architecture, roadmap, principles and standards for enterprise data platforms.
• Design scalable data lake, warehousing and data product architectures with clear separation of storage and compute.
• Define domain-driven, dimensional, analytical and canonical data models and associated design standards.
• Establish integration patterns across ETL/ELT, APIs, events, streaming, orchestration and file-based exchange.
• Provide architecture leadership for Databricks, Spark, industrial data platforms and IIoT data integration.
• Embed metadata, catalogue, lineage, ownership, retention, stewardship and data-quality controls into platform designs.
• Define secure, compliant and auditable access‑control and privacy patterns for enterprise data.
• Enable governed AI/ML consumption through data readiness, feature access, MLOps and model‑serving patterns.
• Guide CI/CD, version control, automated testing, environment promotion and deployment practices for data solutions.
• Lead design reviews, influence cross‑functional stakeholders, coordinate vendors and balance innovation with operational stability.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:(Up to 10,Avoid repetition)

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, enterprise architecture or platform engineering.
• Proven leadership of complex data initiatives across multiple teams, domains or enterprise‑scale environments.
• Strong expertise in data lake architecture, data warehousing and reusable data‑platform design.
• Strong data modelling skills, including domain-driven, canonical, dimensional and analytical models.
• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT, API architecture, event‑driven integration, streaming and orchestration patterns.
• Strong hands‑on architecture experience with Databricks and working knowledge of Spark.
• Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python and Java for data tooling and engineering support.
• Strong understanding of metadata management, discoverability, lineage, data governance and data quality.
• Strong knowledge of security, privacy, access control, auditability and compliance‑by‑design.
• Strong communication, architectural governance, stakeholder influence and practical delivery‑oversight skills.

Desirableskills/knowledge/experience:(As applicable)

• Experience with Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, MQTT or equivalent streaming technologies.
• Experience with IIoT integration and industrial data platforms.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML enablement, MLOps platforms, feature access and model serving/deployment.
• Experience defining data product architectures and reusable domain data services.
• Experience coordinating technology vendors and distributed global teams.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related discipline.

Candidates should hold appropriate RTWs for Ireland i.e. Stamp1G Dependant, Stamp 4, Irish/British/EU passport.
