Our client is a leading global payments and financial technology company, looking for a Senior Data Warehouse Architect to join a growing Data Solutions team, working on modern enterprise data platforms across DBT, Snowflake and AWS.
This is a hands‑on opportunity to design, build and optimize end‑to‑end data warehouse and ELT solutions, working closely with engineering, analytics and platform teams.
The role would suit an experienced Data Engineer / Data Warehouse Engineer who enjoys solving complex data challenges and wants to work with modern data architecture at enterprise scale.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and implement data warehouse and ELT architectures, including data flows, ingestion and transformation patterns.
- Build, maintain and optimise scalable data pipelines across warehouse layers.
- Develop, test and document DBT models across staging, intermediate and marts.
- Design and implement data models using Kimball, Inmon and/or Data Vault methodologies.
- Work extensively with Snowflake, including query optimisation, performance tuning and warehouse/resource optimisation.
- Build and support cloud data solutions across AWS, including services such as S3, EMR/PySpark, Lambda and MWAA.
- Improve data quality, governance, security, lineage and reliability across the data lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure strong observability and platform performance.
- Work with analytics, engineering and platform teams to establish data warehouse and transformation best practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years' experience in enterprise data engineering / data warehouse environments.
- Strong hands‑on SQL experience.
- Strong hands‑on DBT experience, or significant experience with modernising traditional ETL environments.
- Strong Snowflake experience, ideally including performance and query optimisation.
- Solid understanding of end‑to‑end data ingestion, ELT and transformation.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling – Kimball, Inmon and/or Data Vault.
- Good experience working with AWS data platforms.
- Strong understanding of data quality, governance and security.
- Comfortable working across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
