Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Internal Audit Department is seeking a Senior AI & Data Analyst to join the AI & Data Team in Dublin. You will develop AI agents, analytics, automation and data solutions to support continuous assurance and address key business, risk and control questions.

Collaboration with stakeholders to shape innovative solutions, analyse financial and operational data, and turn complex information into clear insights is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, data science or related field.
• At least four years’ relevant professional experience in AI, data analytics, data engineering, automation or related role.
• Strong SQL and Python, with API integration, data engineering and data modelling skills.
• Experience with financial, operational, ERP or SAP data is desirable.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Power Platform or related Microsoft technologies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement AI agents, analytics, automation, data solutions and continuous assurance capabilities.
• Analyse and integrate financial, operational data and other business data, identifying quality issues and improvement opportunities.

Job description

Smurfit Westrock Internal Audit Department is seeking a motivated, business-focused and technical Senior AI & Data Analyst to join the Internal Audit AI & Data Team. The role will support the development and adoption of AI agents, analytics, automation, data solutions and continuous assurance capabilities that help address key business, risk and control questions.

Working as part of the AI & Data Team, the successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to shape innovative solutions, analyse financial and operational data, improve and automate audit processes, and turn complex information into clear insights. They will take ownership of their work, guiding ideas through every stage of the development process, from initial concept through to implementation, adoption and ongoing improvement.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Implement AI agents, analytics, automation, data solutions and continuous assurance capabilities.
• Analyse and integrate financial, operational and other business data, identifying data quality issues, technical problems and opportunities for improvement.
• Take end to end ownership of initiatives, from requirements gathering and solution design through development, testing, peer review, documentation, controlled release, adoption and ongoing improvement.
• Communicate technical concepts, analytical findings and solution outcomes clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Candidate Background & Knowledge:

The ideal candidate will have broad practical capability across AI, data and analytics, together with deeper expertise in at least one area that can bring new capability and direction to the team.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• At least four years’ relevant professional experience in AI, data analytics, data engineering, automation, machine learning or a related role.
• Strong foundation in SQL and Python, with experience in API integration, data engineering, and data modelling.
• Experience working with financial, operational, ERP or SAP data is desirable.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Power Platform or related Microsoft technologies is desirable.

• Adaptable and eager to continue learning as AI, data and audit technologies evolve.
• Fluent English is essential. Spanish or another additional language is desirable.
