Job summary

TOM People Ireland is sourcing a Senior Data Analyst for a rapidly growing client in Ireland. You will own Power BI reporting, collaborating with senior stakeholders to turn complex data into clear insights while establishing scalable data models, KPIs, and reporting standards.

This hands-on role spans the analytics lifecycle, from data sourcing and modelling to building dashboards and writing DAX, with emphasis on governance, GDPR‑compliant reporting, and self‑service analytics.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in Data Analytics/BI or similar role.
• Advanced Power Query and DAX skills with complex transformations.
• Strong data modelling knowledge including relationships, hierarchies, star schema.
• Solid SQL skills across multiple data sources.
• Proven ability to translate business questions into data and reporting solutions.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders and non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards across multiple areas of the business.
• Own end-to-end reporting process from requirements gathering to data modelling, development, testing and deployment.
• Develop robust semantic data models using solid data modelling principles.
• Use Power Query and DAX to transform data and create advanced metrics.
• Write SQL queries to source and combine data from multiple systems.
• Define and standardise KPIs with stakeholders for a consistent performance view.
• Replace fragmented spreadsheets with scalable, self‑service BI solutions.
• Analyse data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and improvement areas.
• Implement appropriate reporting permissions and data access controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve data quality and self-service analytics.

They are investing in their data and BI capabilities and are looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst to help build a trusted, scalable reporting environment.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to take ownership of the development and continuous improvement of Power BI reporting across the business. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and business teams to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights, while helping establish consistent data models, KPIs, and reporting standards.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys working across the full analytics lifecycle — from sourcing and modelling data through to building dashboards, developing advanced DAX and Power Query logic, and presenting insights to decision‑makers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain high‑quality Power BI dashboards across multiple areas of the business.
• Own the end‑to‑end reporting process, from understanding business requirements through to data modelling, development, testing, and deployment.
• Develop robust and reusable semantic data models using strong data modelling principles.
• Use Power Query and DAX to transform data and create advanced business metrics and reporting logic.
• Write SQL queries to source, analyse, and combine data from multiple systems.

About You:

• 4+ years’ experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a similar role.
• Advanced Power Query and DAX skills, including complex transformations and custom measures.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, including relationships, hierarchies, and star schema.
• Solid SQL skills with experience working across multiple data sources.
• Proven ability to translate business questions into effective data and reporting solutions.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and non‑technical business users.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on data quality and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex data clearly.
• Self‑motivated, organised, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast‑paced environment.
