Job summary

Workday Ireland is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Network Security team. You will design and deliver scalable security controls across AWS, GCP, and private clouds, while mentoring teammates and partnering with cross-functional teams to bake security into our products and platforms.

The role emphasizes automation with Terraform, Python, and Go, collaboration with Trust teams, and alignment with CIS, NIST, and FedRAMP standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in network security architecture and design.
• Hands-on experience deploying network security controls across AWS and/or GCP, including cloud-native security controls (e.g., AWS Network Firewall, WAF, GCP Cloud Armor).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Python, Go) and automation tooling (Terraform, Ansible, or Consul).

Responsibilities

• Architect and Build: Design and implement next-generation network security controls across AWS, GCP, and private cloud environments.
• Automate: Build scalable systems for continuous monitoring and enforcement using Terraform, Python, and Go.
• Mentor: Serve as a technical lead guiding team members in their development and security practices.
• Consult: Evaluate production designs to determine security requirements and perform assessments.
• Collaborate: Align with CIS, NIST, and FedRAMP standards and implement control enforcement across teams.
• Operational Excellence: Support security infrastructure including DDoS detection, WAF, and firewalls in production.
