Job summary

AMD seeks a CPU Verification Engineer to join the Dublin area. You will verify high‑speed microprocessor cores and caches, create test environments, and guide cross‑discipline teams to deliver robust cores for server, client and gaming markets.

The role requires strong programming in C/C++, Perl, Ruby, and x86 assembly, with HDL expertise and DFT knowledge. A senior candidate will mentor others while advancing complex verification projects.

Qualifications

• Proficient in IP level ASIC verification.
• Experience with Clock/Reset blocks in an SoC.
• Strong programming in x86 assembly, C/C++, Perl, Ruby; strong logic simulation.
• Proficient with Verilog HDL and SystemVerilog.
• Knowledge of modern computer architecture is a plus.
• DFT with JTAG -1149.x, BIST and Scan designs.
• Experience verifying microprocessors.
• Scripting: Perl, Ruby, Makefile, shell.
• Leadership or mentorship experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute Functional verification of high-speed microprocessor designs, including test suites across RTL and gate level.
• Develop environments and test plans for full chip and block-level verification and debug.
• Develop x86 assembly based tests and exercisers to validate functionality using C/C++/Perl/assembly.
• Coordinate with RTL, DFT and Implementation teams and product manufacturing groups.
• Review functional and code coverage metrics and refine tests to meet coverage.
