Job summary

Cisco Webex Engineering in Galway seeks a Senior Software Engineer focused on Configuration as Code. You will design, implement, test, and deliver Kubernetes-based microservices configurations (Deployments, Services, Ingress) using Kubernetes, Helm, and related tools in a hybrid work environment.

You will drive GitOps workflows with Argo CD, manage secrets with Vault, and apply Open Policy Agent to maintain secure, compliant deployments while enabling autonomous teams through Backstage.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in an analytical subject (e.g. Computer Science, Electronic/Software Engineering).
• 7+ years demonstrated software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, coding, testing and delivery of Kubernetes-based microservices configurations.
• Drive DevOps and GitOps practices using Argo CD and progressive delivery.
• Apply AI-assisted tooling to accelerate configuration-as-code development and validation.
• Own end-to-end configuration quality with governance via Open Policy Agent.
• Support and grow a self-service platform using Backstage for declarative deployments.
