Job summary

Cisco Webex Engineering in Galway seeks a Senior Software Engineer focused on Configuration as Code. You will design, implement, test, and deliver Kubernetes-based microservices configurations (Deployments, Services, Ingress) using Kubernetes, Helm, and related tools in a hybrid work environment.

You will drive GitOps workflows with Argo CD, manage secrets with Vault, and apply Open Policy Agent to maintain secure, compliant deployments while enabling autonomous teams through Backstage.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in an analytical subject (e.g. Computer Science, Electronic/Software Engineering).
• 7+ years demonstrated software development experience.

We operate a hybrid working model. **Your Impact*** **Full Lifecycle Development**: Lead the design, codification, testing, and delivery of Kubernetes-based microservices configurations (Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps) using Kubernetes, Helm. Build reusable base configs with environment overlays and enable safe promotion across dev, staging, and production.* **DevOps & Microservices**: Drive operational excellence in a GitOps model using Argo CD. Implement progressive delivery (canary releases, validation gates), codify autoscaling and resiliency, and manage secure secrets via HashiCorp Vault and Kubernetes Secrets.* **Embrace AI technology**: Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate development, validation, and optimization of configuration-as-code, improving delivery speed and reducing deployment risk.* **Adaptable & Problem-Solver**: Address complex challenges across configuration, policy, observability, and data services.
