Job summary

Corlann in Limerick is recruiting a Senior Community Facilitator/Day Service Coordinator for a specified purpose full-time contract. The role manages Day Services for Adults with Intellectual Disability in Limerick City and ensures person-centred supports.

Candidates should hold a Level 7 qualification with regulator registration, have at least 3 years experience, strong communication, and be able to lead staff, with a willingness to work evenings and weekends and be on-call when required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 7 degree qualification with regulator registration where appropriate.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with people with an Intellectual Disability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of New Directions Standards.
  • Ability to manage and supervise staff.
  • Full clean driving licence and own vehicle.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekend shifts.
  • On-call availability as required.
  • Management experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day management of Day Services for Adults with Intellectual Disability in Limerick City.
  • Develop a personalised range of supports to meet current and emerging needs.
  • Maintain HIQA regulatory compliance and standards.
  • Supervise and support Day Services staff.
  • Foster effective communication with service users, families and external partners.

Senior Community Facilitator/Day Service Coordinator

Specified Purpose Full Time Contract

Location: Limerick City

The person appointed to this post will be responsible for the day to day management of Day Services for Adults with Intellectual Disability in Limerick City in line with HIQA Regulation.

The requirement of the post is to maintain and further develop a personalised range of supports which will meet the current and emerging needs of people who avail of the services.

  • Possess a relevant Level 7 third level qualification, at minimum, with registration with regulator as appropriate.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with people with an Intellectual Disability Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of New Directions Standards
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and supervise staff
  • Have an understanding of and commitment to Personal Lifestyle Planning.
  • Be proactive and have the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on their own initiative.
  • Excellent IT, administration, report writing and organisational skills.
  • Possess a full clean driving licence and own vehicle
  • Be able to work evenings and weekend shifts.
  • Be prepared to be on call as required
  • Management experience while not essential is desirable
