Job summary

NetApp is seeking a highly motivated software engineer to help develop and operate cloud-scale distributed systems spanning storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, and user experiences. You will contribute across development, automated validation, and operational readiness in a hybrid work environment.

The role emphasizes ownership from design through production, production-grade Go services, RESTful APIs, and collaboration with product management and partner teams.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of production software development experience.
• Strong production software development experience in Go, including scalable backend services.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and service-to-service integrations.
• Experience deploying and operating microservices with Kubernetes, containers, and modern CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Own features through the entire software lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Design, develop, and operate cloud-native services leveraging containers, microservices, distributed systems principles, and modern CI/CD practices.
• Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, code reviews, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions spanning storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and customer-facing experiences.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to help drive technical excellence and engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term reliability, scalability, and operational improvements.
• Work closely with product management, architects, and partner teams to translate customer and business requirements into high-quality technical solutions.
• Help the team grow by offering support mentorship to other team members.
• Effectively communicate technical concepts, design tradeoffs, and project status to stakeholders across the organization.
• Contribute to the technical growth of the team through knowledge sharing, code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship opportunities.
