LexisNexis Risk Solutions in Ireland (Dublin) is seeking a Senior Cloud Database Engineer II to ensure reliability, performance, security, and scalability of cloud data platforms supporting business-critical applications. You will combine reliability engineering with hands-on cloud database expertise across AWS services.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with managed cloud databases (Aurora/MySQL, RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, ElastiCache).
• Strong SQL skills: design, optimization, and troubleshooting incl. indexing and queries.
• Scripting in Python or Bash for automation.
• Experience with monitoring and observability solutions.
• Knowledge of HA, backup, restore, DR concepts.
• On-call, incident response, root cause analysis experience.
• IaC using CloudFormation or Terraform and CI/CD for DB change management.
• Security, access governance, resiliency patterns in production.

Responsibilities

• Create monitoring queries and baselines for critical database services.
• Improve availability, fault tolerance, and recoverability across AWS database platforms.
• Participate in on-call rotation and act as senior escalation point.
• Plan and execute failover testing across AWS regions.
• Automate the recovery of systems using Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management.

In this role, you will combine reliability engineering and hands-on cloud database expertise across AWS services, helping to improve service resilience, automate operational processes, and support high-performing production environments.
