Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Senior Client Accountant for its Asset Services team in Ireland. The role focuses on delivering high-quality financial management across a portfolio of properties, ensuring compliance and strong client service.

You will drive financial controls and contribute to process improvements. The ideal candidate has ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification and 2–3 years post-qualification senior accounting experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for a portfolio of properties.

  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations with schedules.
  • Maintain sinking fund reconciliations and CAPEX variances.
  • Oversee rent remittance and invoicing to tenants; maintain controls.
  • Support VAT and other tax filings within deadlines.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and external audits.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Client Accountant to join our Asset Services team in Ireland. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality financial management and accounting services across a portfolio of managed properties while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and exceptional client service. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clients, driving financial controls, and contributing to process improvements within a dynamic property management environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for a portfolio of managed properties.

  • Produce quarterly and annual company accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards.

  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, including supporting schedules and budget versus actual analysis.

  • Prepare and maintain sinking fund reconciliations.

  • Monitor capital expenditure (CAPEX) against approved budgets and highlight variances.

  • Manage rent remittance processes to property owners while maintaining strong financial controls.

  • Maintain and update service charge budgets and year-end apportionments, ensuring timely invoicing to tenants.

  • Record, report, and file VAT and other tax obligations accurately and within statutory deadlines.

  • Assist with client compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Support external audit engagements by providing documentation and responding to auditor requests.

  • Coordinate the setup of new properties within financial systems, including tenant and lease information.

  • Collaborate closely with clients, fund managers, property managers, and internal finance teams.

  • Support the implementation of automation initiatives and enhanced financial processes.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and strengthen controls.

  • Maintain accurate records and perform additional duties as required.

Experience

  • Qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA accountant.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in a senior finance or accounting role.

  • Experience within the property sector is highly desirable.

  • Proven experience preparing management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

  • Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, and audit requirements.

  • Experience working with residential, commercial property, or Owners' Management Company (OMC) accounts is advantageous.

  • Exposure to property management systems such as Yardi, Blockman, or similar platforms is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) required.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach and a strong attention to detail.
