Job summary

Nicholas O’Dwyer Ltd is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer – Civil with a minimum of 10 years’ post-graduate experience for on-site supervision of water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Ireland.

The role involves managing the site supervision team, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring quality and contract compliance within a growing Irish-owned company. A degree in Civil Engineering and a full driving license are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• At least 10 years post-graduate experience, with 7+ years on-site supervision and contract administration.
• Experience in water/wastewater, pipelines, pumping stations, or related works.
• Strong report writing and record-keeping abilities.
• Proficient in document handling and producing reports.
• Full clean driving license.
• Knowledge of construction contracts.
• Attention to QA systems.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication, coordination and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with and manage the Resident Engineers' team.
• Report to the Employer’s Representative.
• Deal with on-site contractual matters.
• Coordinate contract interfaces across works.
• Liaise with stakeholders.
• Assess contractor claims and write reports.
• Assess contractor payment applications.
• Assess performance against contract KPIs.
• Review submissions and provide clear comments.
• Review contractor design submissions against Employers’ requirements.
• Supervise works, maintain records, and manage correspondence.
• Other duties as assigned.
