Job summary

GEDON™ is seeking a Senior Estimator to strengthen its estimating team for civil engineering and utilities projects across Ireland and the UK. You will lead tender submissions, build rates, and work with engineering, operations and commercial colleagues to deliver robust, buildable estimates.

This role offers exposure to major frameworks and long-term programmes, with clear career progression within a stable infrastructure contractor as energy and utilities continue to grow.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering and utilities estimating within a contractor environment.
• Strong knowledge of water, gas, power, telecoms or public infrastructure work.
• Familiarity with Irish public works and utility contract forms such as PWC and NEC.
• Proficient in estimating software and analytical tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed first-principles estimates for civil and utilities projects.
• Lead tender submissions for frameworks, programmes and individual projects across multiple utility sectors.
• Build up rates from labour, plant, materials and subcontract inputs, with clear methodology and assumptions.
• Issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors, and analyse and compare quotations.
• Review tender documents to identify risks, opportunities and clarifications.
• Work with engineering and operations teams to develop construction methodology and programme for bids.
• Support handover of successful tenders to delivery teams.
• Mentor and support junior estimators.
