Job summary

STRIVE Search is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on major infrastructure projects across Ireland. You will take a key role in delivering roads, rail, bridges, and general infrastructure works.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years' post-graduate experience in civil engineering.
• Strong background in civil infrastructure projects, ideally roads, rail, bridges or similar works.
• Proven experience coordinating engineering activities and managing site teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and site engineering practices.
• Good understanding of project programmes, budgets and commercial requirements.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day engineering activities on site to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support the management of site teams, including engineers, foremen, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and construction methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality (HSEQ) requirements.
• Liaise with clients, designers, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with project planning, progress reporting and programme management.
• Coordinate labour, plant and materials to maintain productivity on site.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges and potential project risks.
• Mentor and support junior engineers while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Assist with commercial awareness, cost control and efficient resource management.
