Senior Black Utilities Engineer — CQV & Reliability

Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Utilities Engineer for a cGMP site in the midlands. You will drive performance, compliance, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of black utility systems across the operation.

The role covers CQV leadership, asset reliability, sustainability, and training. You will work with maintenance, operations, EHS and contractors to ensure safe, efficient utility services and ongoing GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
• Typically 5+ years of experience working directly with industrial plant utilities in heavily regulated environments such as cGMP facilities.
• Familiarity with GMP requirements and working within regulated manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, review, and update utility processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation for utility systems.
• Operate and maintain major utility equipment (cooling towers, steam, electrical, water and waste systems) in line with quality and safety.
• Lead CQV strategy and execution for black utilities (chilled water, LPHW, steam, compressed air).
• Maintain technical documentation packs for black utility systems.
• Support training and develop skills within the engineering team.
• Manage stakeholders and contractors with clear communication.
