Job summary

Vistatec is seeking an experienced BI Technical Lead to safeguard data pipelines, keep semantic models current, and ensure seamless access to Power BI assets while guiding the BI team.

You will own complex tasks, mentor teammates, optimize ETL/ELT processes, and balance cost with performance using SparkSQL, PySpark, SQL, and Fabric within the Azure ecosystem.

Strong communication with stakeholders and a strategic mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong background in data engineering and dashboard development.
• Expertise in data warehousing, databases, and Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
• Proficient in SQL, Python/PySpark, and SparkSQL.
• Deep understanding of data modelling and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and Git version control.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee integrity of data pipelines, semantic models, and Power BI assets.
• Lead complex tasks, optimize ETL architecture for scalability and cost.
• Convert business logic into technical requirements and document them.
• Review peer work to ensure simple, maintainable solutions.
• Organise training and mentor the team in SQL, Python, Power BI, and Fabric.
• Perform data quality checks and maintain healthy Lakehouse tables.
• Identify automation opportunities to centralize logic in ETL.
• Manage data processing costs by optimizing Spark/PySpark workloads.
