Job summary

Innovate is seeking an experienced BER Manager to lead the BER/Sustainability department in Ireland. You will oversee domestic and non domestic BER services, manage workload and team, and ensure compliance with SEAI requirements and Building Regulations.

You will mentor BER Assessors, plan projects, liaise with clients and design teams, and drive growth of sustainability services across residential and commercial developments.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Building Services, Sustainability or a related discipline.
• Strong experience within BER, sustainability or building energy performance.
• Excellent knowledge of SEAI requirements, Part L and building energy compliance.
• Strong technical, leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, workloads and deadlines.
• Excellent client communication and problem solving skills.
• Strong IT and technical reporting skills.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day to day operations of the BER / Sustainability Department.
• Lead, support and develop BER Assessors and Sustainability team members.
• Plan workloads, allocate projects and ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Oversee Domestic and Non Domestic BER assessments and associated reporting.
• Review technical work to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance with SEAI requirements and Building Regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and support on complex projects.
• Oversee work relating to Part L compliance, U value calculations, condensation risk and building energy performance.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, engineers and design teams.
• Support the training and development of new and existing employees.
• Monitor department performance, project delivery and quality standards; support recruitment and resource planning as the department grows.
• Identify opportunities to develop and expand Sustainability services.
• Work closely with Operations, Sales and wider Building Performance teams.
