Job summary

Pinterest Ireland is seeking senior full-stack and backend engineers to join our Data and Core engineering teams. You’ll build robust frameworks and features. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to enable scalable experiences for millions of Pinners.

You’ll work on large-scale distributed systems, apply AI to improve speed and quality, and drive initiatives from inception to release, while maintaining high standards of engineering and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with scalable web services.
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and data storage solutions.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
• Familiarity with Python, Java, C++, or Go and a willingness to learn new languages.

Responsibilities

• Build backend for user-facing features and scale to millions of users.
• Lead product development from ideation to implementation and release.
• Collaborate with design, product, and backend teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.
• Propose new product ideas and features and validate with data and experiments.
• Implement automated testing to ensure high-quality code and reliability.
• Grow technical skills by working with peers on complex projects.
• Design, develop and operate large-scale distributed systems and networks.
• Collaborate with engineering customers to address new requirements efficiently.
• Improve developer processes across coding and operations.
• Leverage AI to speed up drafting, prototyping, and decision making.
• Ensure AI-assisted work is well-validated with testing and reviews.
