Job summary

Taktile is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to own critical data infrastructure powering our feature computation platform. You’ll build and operate Python-based backend services on AWS, own systems end-to-end, and drive architectural decisions with a high degree of ownership.

You will work with Product and Design to shape the product, mentor teammates, and raise the bar on tooling and processes. This role supports a hybrid work model from multiple global hubs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of leading complex projects in a senior role.
• Deep expertise in Python and building backend systems on cloud platforms (AWS).
• Strong system design skills and ability to defend architectural trade-offs.
• Depth in data pipelines and storage, event-driven architectures, caching/performance, or serverless systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to align technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model from multiple hubs; relocation assistance not provided.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate backend services in Python on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora) handling real production traffic.
• Tackle latency, reliability, and scale challenges daily.
• Own systems end-to-end from architecture to deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
• Make key architectural decisions with real ownership over building approaches.
• Raise the bar through code reviews, mentoring, and tooling/process improvements.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to shape next features.
