Job summary

Zinkworks in Ireland is forming a dedicated delivery squad for a high-growth international technology client. The goal is to move customer support from reactive to proactive with an AI-driven platform on Google Cloud, moving from incident detection to remediation and proactive messaging.

You'll build the services that turn detected incidents into actions—focus on correctness, safety, and auditable workflows—while developing APIs, integrating with client systems, and enabling autonomous

Qualifications

• Production backend services experience in Python (FastAPI, Flask or Django).
• Strong API design and third-party system integration with contract testing.
• Experience designing workflow/state-machine driven systems with auditability.
• Knowledge of reliability patterns: idempotency, retries, rate limiting, circuit breakers.
• Experience deploying and operating services on cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud, with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Strong testing discipline across unit, integration and end-to-end levels.

Responsibilities

• Build a prioritisation and impact scoring engine ranking incidents by affected customers and revenue at risk.
• Integrate with internal/third-party APIs via discovery, sandbox, contract tests, then batch remediation actions.
• Implement cohort assembly with eligibility rules, guardrails and idempotency for safe retries.
• Create incident workflow state machine with logging, audit trail and automated recovery verification.
• Integrate Slack for incident lifecycle and Intercom for proactive customer messaging.
• Extend remediation with cost caps, blast-radius limits and operator preview.
• Build safety controls for autonomous operation: rate limits, circuit breakers, kill switch and escalation logic.
• Expose clean APIs for incident console and dashboards, contribute to squad engineering standards.
