Job summary

GCS Recruitment in Cork, Ireland is seeking a Senior Backend Cloud Engineer to design, build and scale cloud-native backend services for our growing platform. You will own services end-to-end—from architecture through deployment—in a Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes environment on-site in Cork.

The role requires deep expertise in C# and .NET, microservices, and CI/CD with ArgoCD and IaC tooling, plus collaboration with cloud architects and front-end developers to deliver robust enterprise

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend/cloud development experience.
• Strong C#, .NET (Core/6+) and API design skills.
• Hands-on with Azure services (AKS, App Services, Functions, Event Hub, Service Bus, Key Vault).
• Solid understanding of microservices and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Entity Framework and SQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and deployment automation (ArgoCD, Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep or ARM) and GitOps workflows.
