Job summary

Enterprise Registry Solutions Limited in Dublin seeks a Senior Backend Developer to lead domain-driven design of backend systems and mentor engineers. You will shape domain models aligned with business capabilities, implement robust APIs, and drive architectural governance across services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend development in complex, domain-rich systems.
• Proven experience delivering production-grade systems using DDD.
• Experience with microservices or modular monolith architectures.
• Influence technical direction and engineering standards.
• BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• Extensive experience with .NET / C# backend development.
• Strong knowledge of DDD with hands-on implementation.
• Experience implementing CQRS patterns in production systems.
• Deep understanding of backend design patterns (DI, repository, mediator, factory).
• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture and separation of concerns.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Proficiency with ORMs like Entity Framework.
• Exposure to CosmosDB or NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing database schemas aligned to domain boundaries.
• Familiarity with Docker and Azure environments.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of robust backend architectures based on DDD.
• Define bounded contexts, aggregates, entities, value objects, and domain services.
• Translate business requirements into domain models and apply CQRS where suitable.
• Champion Clean Architecture to ensure maintainability and testability.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, secure APIs and services.
• Promote code quality, automated testing, and resilience standards.
• Lead design reviews and contribute to architectural governance.
• Mentor mid-level developers and drive engineering excellence.
• Communicate architectural decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of development standards and practices.
