Job summary

AVI-SPL is seeking an Installation Technician to perform AV installation tasks on contracted projects across customer sites in Ireland. You will lead installation crews, read schematics, test cabling, and support engineers with programming while ensuring quality and safety standards.

The role requires 4–6 years in AV/electronics installation, advanced cabling skills (HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber), and a valid driver’s license. Travel to multiple job sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
• Strong client-facing skills and the ability to build relationships.
• Advanced understanding of AV systems including projectors, displays, speakers, microphones, video conferencing, digital signage, and control systems.
• Proficient in installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber) with conduit runs and wiring methods.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools for installation tasks.
• Experience leading on-site teams and mentoring junior technicians.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation crews on projects, coordinate with Project Manager, ensure time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Read schematics and blueprints; assemble and wire AV equipment.
• Test cabling and system functionality; program or adjust control/ DSP systems as needed.
• Mentor Level 1/2 Technicians and supervise on-site team performance.
• Travel to different job sites and support project documentation and client liaison.
