Job summary

BMS Performance Ireland is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to lead technical proposals and cost estimates for automation projects in the medtech and life sciences sectors. You will blend engineering leadership with strong customer interaction, supporting sales and project teams through the full lifecycle.

The role requires a degree in engineering and a background in automation, with SolidWorks proficiency and excellent communication skills. Based in Limerick with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in Applications/Project/Proposal Engineering.
• Background in automation, machine building or engineered solutions.
• Strong commercial awareness and customer-facing experience.
• Experience developing technical proposals and project cost estimates.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of technical proposals, budgets and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with customers to understand project requirements and develop automation concepts.
• Support sales teams during qualification and technical discussions.
• Present solutions and technical proposals to customers.
• Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure project feasibility.
• Manage customer relationships through project delivery and post-installation support.
• Support change orders, scope management and commercial discussions.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
