Job summary

BMS Performance Ireland is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to lead technical proposals and cost estimates for automation projects in the medtech and life sciences sectors. You will blend engineering leadership with strong customer interaction, supporting sales and project teams through the full lifecycle.

The role requires a degree in engineering and a background in automation, with SolidWorks proficiency and excellent communication skills. Based in Limerick with travel as needed.

THE ROLE:

This is a senior Applications Engineer position combining technical leadership, proposal development and customer engagement. You'll work closely with sales, engineering and project teams to develop automation solutions and manage customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

THE PERSON:

This role will suit an experienced Applications Engineer, Proposal Engineer, Project Engineer or Automation Engineer looking to move into a more customer-facing position. Candidates from machine building, automation, special purpose machinery or capital equipment environments will be particularly well suited.

• Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience in Applications Engineering, Project Engineering or Proposal Engineering
• Background in automation, machine building or engineered solutions
• Strong commercial awareness and customer-facing experience
• Experience developing technical proposals and project cost estimates
• Proficiency with SolidWorks
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
• Experience within medical device, pharmaceutical or life sciences projects would be advantageous
