Job summary

OpenAI Ireland Ltd. is seeking a seasoned User Operations/Support engineer to troubleshoot high-impact issues with customers on OpenAI’s platform.

You’ll work directly with customers via tickets and live calls, using automation and AI capabilities to improve operations, while partnering with Engineering, Product, and Operations to elevate the customer experience. The role requires deep technical fluency, strong communication, and a willingness to work a 5x8 schedule with weekend on-call coverage

Qualifications

• 8+ years in User Operations, Engineering, or similar technical roles.
• Ability to script or engineer code (Python) for automation.
• Expert-level SaaS troubleshooting with rapid learning of new tech.
• Polished enterprise communication and calm under pressure.
• Ability to explain complex issues to customers and teams.
• Comfort with ambiguity and rapid change.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for customers, including production incidents.
• Be a trusted expert on OpenAI products and platform.
• Escalation point and defender for complex issues with cross-functional teams.
• Share learnings and scale solutions with Product and GTM teams.
• Drive automation and AI-powered workflows to improve efficiency.
• Occasional holiday and weekend on-call support as needed.
