Job summary

Cast AI is seeking a platform engineer to design and scale AI-informed cost and workload solutions for Kubernetes. You will build safe, permission-aware MCP servers that connect external AI clients to CAST AI's platform and infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

The role emphasizes production-grade Go services, strong Kubernetes expertise, and hands-on experience with AI coding agents and observability. You will join a remote-first team serving customers globally from Ireland and beyond.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with clean abstractions.
• Production Go experience preferred; other languages acceptable with strong systems skills.
• Experience building or operating large-scale SaaS platforms in production.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes, autoscaling, scheduling, and networking.
• You've driven a complex project end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows.
• Experience with observability tooling in production.
• CI/CD and DevOps practices experience.
• Strong English skills, both verbal and written.
• Startup mindset: adaptable and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Design and build systems behind our AI assistant: agent flows, context retrieval, and data connections.
• Develop and maintain our public, permission-aware MCP server: curated tools, identity, audit, and safety gates.
• Develop and maintain multi-cloud connectivity across AWS, GCP, and Azure, and data foundations our agents rely on.
• Write production Go services interacting with cloud APIs, Kubernetes control plane, and LLM APIs in real time.
• Own features end-to-end from design through production rollout (typical projects ship in 1–4 weeks).
• Debug novel problems: wrong agent answers, cross-cloud permission edge cases, data freshness issues at scale.
• Build the quality harness: evals, telemetry, feedback loops for safe agent improvements.
• Contribute to product direction and backlog; participate in on-call rotations.
