Senior AI Engineering Leader - Enterprise GenAI Platforms

A global enterprise organisation is building out its next‑generation AI engineering capability and is seeking a senior leader to drive the strategy, architecture, and delivery of enterprise‑scale GenAI platforms and applications. This role sits within a central engineering enablement function focused on accelerating software delivery, modernising engineering practices, and embedding AI capabilities across large‑scale technology teams. The position will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and production‑grade GenAI solutions in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the GenAI engineering roadmap and operating model
• Drive enterprise adoption of AI engineering standards and best practices
• Oversee development of LLM‑powered applications and platforms
• Lead architecture and governance for RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, evaluation frameworks, and AI integration layers
• Ensure AI systems are scalable, observable, secure, and compliant
• Partner with Product, Security, Risk, Architecture, and Data teams to operationalise GenAI capabilities
• Lead organisational growth, hiring, team development, and engineering standards

Required Experience

• Proven leadership experience managing engineering organisations and technical strategy
• Strong experience deploying GenAI/LLM systems into production enterprise environments
• Expertise across AI engineering, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and cloud‑native architectures
• Strong understanding of AI governance, evaluation, monitoring, and controls
• Experience with modern engineering ecosystems including containers, DevSecOps, SQL/NoSQL databases, and event‑driven systems
• Strong technical depth in languages such as Python, Go, or TypeScript
