Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Abuse Control Engineer to design, prototype, and incubate technical defenses safeguarding the company’s financial ecosystem against complex abuse vectors.

You will translate threat intelligence into concrete control requirements, balance security with product velocity, and develop automated regression suites while collaborating with product teams to hand off mature defenses.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Security Engineering, Software Engineering, Application Security, or Anti-Abuse Engineering in a high-scale production environment.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software development background with Python/Go/Java and SQL for telemetry analysis.

Responsibilities

• Rapid Control Prototyping: design, prototype, and deploy technical controls to close high-impact abuse vectors.
• Control Co-Design: collaborate with teams to design secure controls across payment, onboarding, identity, and Connect surfaces.
• Risk Experimentation: run experiments and A/B tests to measure risk reduction and impact on user conversion.
• Regression Testing: build regression test suites and automated attack simulations to ensure defenses persist.
• Stakeholder Management: define handoff criteria and documentation to transfer controls to product teams.
