Job summary

Amazon in Ireland is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for TrafficShift in Dublin. You will design and maintain AWS's foundational networking service enabling rapid event mitigation and safe deployment of config updates across our global infrastructure.

You will collaborate with network engineers, mentor teammates, participate in architectural discussions, and drive reliability, performance, and operational excellence through code reviews and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or architecting systems with scalability and reliability.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Experience with full software development life cycle, coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement significant components and features ensuring network reliability within the Global Connectivity and Network Availability org.
• Collaborate with network engineers and stakeholders; participate in architectural discussions; mentor junior team members; drive operational excellence through code reviews and optimization.
• Make pragmatic technical decisions balancing customer requirements with team needs while maintaining high reliability and performance.
