• Background in Financial Services/Banking domain in Ireland/UK markets will be an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Facilitate sprint planning and ensure effective team capacity use.
• Keep the Agile Delivery Squad focused on sprint plans and reviews.
• Assist with internal and external communication, increasing transparency.
• Collaborate with Delivery lead, product owners and design/technical leads to enable delivery.
• Improve delivery capacity by optimizing release and iteration planning.
• Build a trusting, safe environment that encourages open problem-solving.
• Remove impediments or guide the team to resolve them.
• Provide servant leadership and lead by example.
• Collaborate across Onshore and distributed teams.
• Mentor and share knowledge with other team members.
• Train and coach the agile team on scrum processes as needed.
• Advise and lead on agile values, practices, and processes.
• Facilitate scaled agile events or coordinate logistics when required.
• Participate in Scrum Master chapter and drive best practices.
• Build positive relationships within and across teams.

Summary of role

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Scrum Master with a passion for agile scrum practices and a keen delivery mindset to join our team and be part of a major transformation project. The role involves performing the scrum master role for scrum squads. This will require a combination of scrum facilitation as well as leadership skills.

We’re looking for someone who will:

• Facilitate the planning of work for scrum teams including effective planning and utilization of scrum team capacity.
• Keep the Agile Delivery Squad(s) focused on sprint plan and support regular reviews
• Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, & radiating information.
• Collaborate with Delivery lead, product owners and Design/technical leads to enable an effective delivery process.
• Improve the team's delivery capacity by maximizing the effectiveness of release and iteration planning, retrospectives.
• Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
• Add value by removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
• Provide necessary support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.
• You are a collaborative peer who thrives with autonomy and can work across Onshore and distributed teams/Squads.
• You share your knowledge and enjoy mentoring other members of the team.
• You train and coach the agile team on scrum process as needed, keeping it on track and productive

You will need to show us that:

• You can advise and lead the team on agile values, practices and processes to ensure that the team is fully functional, productive, and focused on the sprint goals
• You can run all the scrum events such as sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review and sprint retrospective
• You can work with the team and product area to resolve challenges and remove impediments
• You can participate in scaled agile events and will sometimes be required to facilitate at these events or lead and co-ordinate the logistics for these events
• You can participate in your Scrum Master chapter, contributing to and driving best practices
• You can build positive relationships within and across teams

Experience and Skills required
