Job summary

Southside Personnel in Dublin City Centre seeks a part-time Campus Monitor to support student safety and smooth day-to-day operations. You will monitor entrances, manage foot traffic and respond to incidents during term-time hours Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., reporting to the Deputy Principal.

This role emphasizes vigilance, approachability and clear communication as you liaise with the management and pastoral teams, greet visitors, and help maintain a respectful school environment

Qualifications

• Previous relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the entrance and exit points of the school buildings, particularly the pedestrian crossing, ensuring safe and orderly movement of students.
• Patrol corridors, stairwells, and common areas to ensure student safety and adherence to school rules.
• Respond promptly to incidents, behavioural concerns, or emergencies, following school procedures.
• Provide a visible and reassuring presence to students, staff, and visitors during school hours.
• Liaise with school management, administrative staff, and the pastoral team to support a safe and respectful school culture.
• Assist with crowd control and the smooth flow of foot traffic during class changeovers and lunch periods.
• Ensure students are attending classes by monitoring local coffee shops and other venues.
• Report maintenance or safety issues in the building or school grounds.
• Greet and direct visitors courteously and professionally when required.
• Uphold and model school values of respect, responsibility, and community.

Job Advertisement: Campus Monitor Location: Dublin City Centre

Position Type: Part-Time (Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.). This role will operate during term time, contract will run up until end May 2027 and be renewed at that point. Reports to: Deputy Principal

Position Summary

The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, order, and smooth operation of inside and outside buildings throughout the school day. This is a key support position involving vigilance, approachability, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the entrance and exit points of the school buildings, particularly the foot traffic at the pedestrian crossing at a busy intersection, ensuring safe and orderly movement of students.
• Patrol corridors, stairwells, and common areas throughout the day to ensure student safety and adherence to school rules.
• Respond promptly to any incidents, behavioural concerns, or emergencies, following school procedures.
• Provide a visible and reassuring presence to students, staff, and visitors during school hours.
• Liaise with school management, administrative staff, and the pastoral team to support a safe and respectful school culture.
• Assist with crowd control and the smooth flow of foot traffic during class changeovers and lunch periods.
• Ensure students are attending classes by monitoring local coffee, restaurant shops e.g. Starbucks.
• Report maintenance or safety issues in the building or school grounds.
• Greet and direct visitors courteously and professionally when required.

Working Hours and Conditions

• Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• Term-time role based on the academic calendar for the year.
• €20.00/hr for hours worked.
