Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing the daily operation of the afterschool programme.
  • Planning and overseeing creative, recreational, educational and age-appropriate activities.
  • Supervising, supporting and motivating the School-Aged Care team.
  • Building positive relationships with children, families, school staff and colleagues.
  • Supporting children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
  • Promoting positive behaviour management and effective conflict resolution.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate attendance, accident/incident and other required records.
  • Promoting health, safety, cleanliness and a welcoming environment.
  • Assisting the Centre Manager with programme development, evaluation and quality improvement.

Vacancy: School-Aged Care Team Leader – Full-Time

Little Hands Churchfield Afterschool Service is seeking an experienced, organised and enthusiastic School-Aged Care Team Leader to lead the day-to-day organisation and management of our afterschool programme for children aged 4–12 years.

Key duties include:
  • Leading and managing the daily operation of the afterschool programme.
  • Planning and overseeing creative, recreational, educational and age-appropriate activities.
  • Supervising, supporting and motivating the School-Aged Care team.
  • Building positive relationships with children, families, school staff and colleagues.
  • Supporting children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with school-aged children.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience desirable.
  • QQI Level 6 or higher in Early Childhood Care & Education, Childcare, Social Care or related field.
  • First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
  • Child Protection training, or willingness to complete.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team.

Hours: Full-time

Location: In person
